Hype Williams' unique artistic vision helped define the look of hip-hop and R&B in the '90s, '00s and beyond. Fish-eye lenses, widescreen vistas, dramatic slow-motion - these are just some of Williams' trademarks that powered the second generation of MTV. (The only shame in his career is he never directed more than one movie: the 1998 cult classic Belly, starring Nas and DMX.
